Storyboard - a story board is used for audio visuals - films, tv shows and games 

elements - scene content, scene numbers, scene times, key characters, key music/sound, camera movement , shot type, 

Wireframe - a wireframe is used for a website, social media and apps

elements - logo, maps where text is, colour scheme (annotations), website header, banner, footer, copyright info, credits and navigation bar

Treatment/proposal - 

elements - client requirements, time scale, type of media product, inspiration, distribution, purpose, target audience, content of the product, legal and ethical issues. 

Visualisation diagram - print products

elements - images, colour, annotations, fonts, house style, position text, layout, key objects, titles

Sitemap - websites and apps (navigation plan)

elements - pages, linking lines that reflect the flow and audience usability

Script - film, radio, tv, games

elements - dialogue, characters, tone of voice, acting gesture, editing info, camera work and sound

  Using a visualisation diagram as part of the planning process can be very effective for the production team, as well as the client, as it offers a clear visual of the way you want the final print product to look.  For example, to create a simple visualisation diagram, there is both advantages and disadvantages, but to make it clear to understand it doesn't require much techincal skills or training. As a result of this the production team can select a single person to design of the website rather than hiring a full team and wasting money. However, as it is only one person creating the diagram, it may be more time consuming than it would with a team, but it will not cost as much in the long run.  An advantage of using a visualisation diagram in the preproduction of myholidayplanner.com is that it shows a clear layout of the website which is going to be created.
